The main organizer of this summit is the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia, with the support from the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA) Malaysia. The main of goal of this event is to update on the industry development and promote awareness to the various stakeholders as well as the public on sustainable energy.  ISES also acts as a platform to provide exchange of sustainable energy information and network opportunities. The theme of ISES 2014 “Currency of Autonomy: Sustainable Energy” aligns with SEDA Malaysia’s vision to promote the deployment of sustainable energy measures as part of the solutions towards achieving energy security and autonomy. With the global scenario of the unpredictable energy prices,  the countries with risks will have to contend due to reducing supply of fossil fuels, and the environmental costs of these fuels. These issues have provided compelling reasons for many countries to begin transforming their current energy landscape to include sustainable energy in their energy portfolio.

During the event, SEDA Malaysia will provide updates on the latest development of RE and EE in the country with respect to the legal framework and the implementation. Other notable topics include green financing, renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Among the notable speakers are Milo Sjardin, head of Asia Pasific Bloomblerg New Energy Finance from Singapore who will be presenting on ‘Strategies to Manage and Mitigate Financing Risk for Sustainable Energy Project’ and also Anjali Shanker from Innovation Energie Development France who will be talking on ‘Empowering Rural Autonomy with Mini-Grid and PV Hybrid: Overview and Best Practices’.
